ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, ASSISTANT PRODUCER,  & SAFEGUARDING OFFICER

Jo graduated from Mountview Theatre School and worked as a performer until she began her career in Education 10 years later. During this time Jo appeared as Janet in The Rocky Horror Show, Soloist in Live and Let Die, a James Bond concert with The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

Other theatre includes Sweet Inspiration in Elvis the Musical, Jenny Jones in Tom Jones, Kelly in LWT s The Knock and Tinkerbelle in Peter Pan. Also, Jo was a cabaret artiste and part of successful duo The Polka Dots with Sarah Jane Buckley- performing as the support artiste for Cannon and Ball, Joe Pascale and The Chuckle Brothers. 

A career in education was a natural progression on becoming a Mum and Jo became The Head of Performing Arts at Bournemouth and Poole College with a cohort of over 200 students and a teaching team of 15 staff. During her time as HOC Jo c-wrote the FDA in Performing Arts and the top up BA hons and led the team through 2 validations with Arts University Bournemouth. Under the Principal Lawrence Vincent BPC was considered a leading College and the Performing Arts department was consistently rated as Outstanding by Ofsted.  

Whilst at Bournemouth and Poole College Jo produced and directed student shows including Les Misérables, Punk Rock, Jekyll and Hyde, Midsummers Night Dream and Nevilles Island. The student provision was from level 1-6 and covered all elements of performance, technical theatre and dance, and was regarded as a second home by staff and students alike.

On leaving BPC Jo has worked freelance as an interim manager for Click Recruitment, an examiner for Pearson, and as an associate producer and director for Ginger Boy Productions Limited.

Jo is also the Co-founder of South Coast Academy of Performing Arts, an affordable weekly provision that aims to nurture and encourage young people through Performing Arts. It currently has a cohort of over 100 part time students who participate after school and at the weekends.
