JACQUELYN OCKWELL

Opportunities to perform in her local youth theatre led Jacquelyn to train with The National Youth Theatre of Great Britain and then to study at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, London. Her acting credits include Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof at the London Palladium, Indian Ink at the Aldwych Theatre, Miss Casewell in the world’s longest running play The Mousetrap, St Martin’s Theatre and roles in Three Hours After Marriage, The General from America and The White Devil with the Royal Shakespeare Company. As Assistant Director she has worked on large scale youth productions at the Grand Opera House, Belfast and Mayflower Theatre, Southampton, including Bugsy Malone, The Pirates of Penzance, Oliver! and Guys & Dolls and has most recently directed Les Miserables School’s Edition. As a playwright she has written several productions for Mayflower Musical Youth Theatre and is currently working on her 6th musical play. She also thoroughly enjoys being a judge for BBC Radio 2’s 5OO Words competition.
None of this would have happened without Jacquelyn having had the chance to participate in performing arts at a young age and she is passionate about giving all young people the opportunity to engage in live theatre, which is why she is so pleased to be directing Disney’s Peter Pan Jnr for Ginger Boy Productions.
